Pastor Brian Evans is the founder and Senior Pastor of Oakwood Baptist Church. OBC has a thriving outreach ministry including a Rescue Mission and Bus Ministry. Pastor Evans has been preaching since 1987 and has served the Lord full-time since 1994. He has been married to his wife Valerie since 1989. Zack Evans is our Associate Pastor and oversees our Youth, Children's, and Bus Ministries. After serving as our volunteer Youth Pastor for several years, he was hired full-time in June 2014. Zack and his wife Sarah both grew up in our church. Zack is a graduate our 4 year Bible Institute. Chris Pugliese is the Director of the Gainesville Baptist Mission. Chris has been a faithful leader at OBC for many years and became full-time director of GBM in 2023. GBM provides over 600 meals each month and runs a thrift store which supplies the ministry with needed funds to help the men and pay other expenses. The mission holds a nightly chapel service with preachers from many good churches in our area. Chris also oversees our faith-based addiction recovery program RU Recovery.
